Darius Roby is an American writer, geographer, explorer, cartographer and Senior Researcher at Multicultural Business Institute.
A child of the pine-covered hills of north-central Mississippi, a natural curiosity for better understanding the world led to him to pursuing a B.A in international studies from the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi. Afterwards, his path took him to Romania where he graduated with a M.A. in European Studies from Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
As the former editor at Cluj.com, Darius sought to record and preserve the stories of families, traditions, historical and geographical wonders of Cluj County and the greater ethno-cultural region of Transylvania. He also strives to promote Romania as a fascinating and exciting travel destination.
Beyond Romania, his desire to explore the world has led him on journeys from the ancient ruins of Armenia to the scorching deserts of Central Asia, recording everything of interest and publishing his thoughts and stories on his personal website: https://www.dariusroby.com/
As a member of the American Geographical Society, his writings serve to explore the relationship between geography, archaeology, cuisine, and cultural identity. His articles have been published in Cluj.com, Moldova.org, Ukraine Today, and Canada Free Press.
Part of the Hakluyt Society, Darius has an interest in books on voyages of discovery, the history of navigation, exploration, and geographical discovery. To that end, he is currently publishing a special book, a topographical and cultural treatise on the regions of Moldova, Bukovina, Podolia, and Halychyna: “ TRAVELS IN MOLDOVA AND THE LANDS BEYOND” (Napoca Star Publishing, 2019) proffesionally accredited in History-Cultures-Traditions Series of Multicultural Business Institute.
